Dear Baby Shows,
Well, I’ve lost track of how many “notes” I’ve written you on the blog. I miss you. A ton. I guess I hope that someday you’ll read this blog and know that even though we couldn’t be with you, you were never far from our thoughts.
Because we’re done with the “paperchase,” we’re getting your room ready. The furniture is painted. We have a glider chair in there and a coordinating pillow. I have photos of animals I need to order to put up there so it feels “safari.” Your aunt (and cousins, I’m sure) just sent some stuffed animals and your other aunt made you a blanket (for Christmas! It’s beautiful). But the room is missing the one central piece that will bring it all together.
We are praying you home, little one. And until you get to come home to your forever family, we are praying for you in every way while you’re in Africa.I’m praying these verses from Ephesians over you:
I pray that from His glorious, unlimited resources He will empower you with inner strength through His Spirit. Then Christ will make His home in your hearts as you trust in Him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep His love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.
We love you so much, Baby Shows. We can’t wait to meet you.
PS – I’m sorry in advance for crying when we meet. I’ve waited so long and I cry at pretty much everything. You’ll learn to appreciate it about me, after a long period during which it will greatly embarrass you. My sincerest apologies. It will help you build character.
